PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. - Officials are expressing concern after a coyote sighting outside a school in southern Cape Breton.

The principal of the Tamarac Education Centre in Port Hawkesbury, Jack MacDonald, says a parent spotted two coyotes near the woods at the front of the school on Monday.

MacDonald says they kept students inside during recess and called police.

He says there will be extra outdoor supervision.

Officials will also be in touch with the Department of Natural Resources.
