ST. MORITZ, Switzerland - Lindsey Vonn leads the opening super-G run of a World Cup super-combined event Sunday as she seeks to sweep the three-race weekend.
Vonn has a 0.23-second advantage to defend in the afternoon slalom leg after timing 1 minute 19.90 seconds on the sunny Engiadina course.
Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany was second and Austria's Anna Fenninger was third, 0.68 back. They are, respectively, the current Olympic and world champions in super-combined.
Vonn says she must "really risk everything" in the slalom after making "some small mistakes" in the opening run.
The American has a commanding lead in the World Cup overall standings after winning Saturday's downhill and another super-combined here on Friday.
