BURBANK, Calif. - The Walt Disney Co. says it will acquire a controlling stake in India's largest media and entertainment company, UTV.

The companies announced the deal Tuesday but did not disclose the financial terms.

UTV produces movies, television and interactive media.

Disney already owns India's leading children's television networks. The deal will make the U.S. company India's leading film studio as well.
