FREDERICTON - Schools in southeastern New Brunswick are closing for the day due to snowfall warnings in the region.

All schools in the greater Fredericton area will be shut down, along with francophone schools in district one.

Snowfall warnings have also been issued for the Moncton area.

Environment Canada says the region is expecting 15 to 20 centimetres of snow today.

It says a low pressure system near the Great Lakes is tracking eastward and passing south of the province.
