TORONTO - The Canadian dollar opened at 99.86 cents US, down 0.18 of a cent from Thursday's close.

The U.S. dollar stood at 100.14 cents Cdn, up 0.18 of a cent.

Pound sterling was worth C$1.5843, up 0.48 of a cent and US$1.5821 up 0.20 of a cent.

The euro was worth C$1.3174, up 0.37 of a cent.
