VANCOUVER - Police in the Metro Vancouver community of Maple Ridge say two young people have been killed during an early morning crash between a van and a car.
RCMP Sgt. Dale Somerville says the accident took place Sunday around 2:25 a.m.
He says the van was occupied by three young males, and the car was occupied by three young females.
Somerville says the van's driver and a car passenger are dead and the remaining four youth remain in hospital with serious injuries.
Police have not yet released the names of the deceased.
Somerville says due to the ages of the victims, police will be working with school district officials to ensure counselling services are available.
